Bargain and sale, 1601, March 5. 43 Elizabeth I.

Bargain and sale by William James of London, gentleman, to Thomas Draper of London, beer brewer, for £210 of his moiety of the lands, etc., lying in Tottenham, Edelmeton, alias Edmonton, and Chingford in the counties of Middlesex and Essex, demised unto him and to George James his brother and to the heirs of their several bodies by Roger James their father in his last will and testament, dated 19 June, 31 Elizabeth [1589]. Notice of a lease made heretofore of 9 acres of ground commonly called "St. John Meade" made unto John Burton of Chingford and Stephen Burton his son, dated 17 May [1600], and another lease dated 16 May, 40 Elizabeth [1589], made by William James to Henry Smyth, citizen and draper of London, of 24 acres lying in the common north of Edmonton, for 7 years at a rent of £16; with covenants to make a good title, to acquit of all encumbrances, etc.
